Movement: Restaurant Workers Rights

First-generation American Saru Jayaraman has been organizing restaurant employees—one of the largest workforces in America—to protect their rights for over a decade. Through her organization, Restaurant Opportunities Centers United, she advocates on behalf of these workers to improve working conditions and develops their leadership skills. She is also a Professor at Brooklyn College.
