Training of Trainers April 2010

The DC event brought together trainers from US-based NGOs, consulting firms, and government institutions.To continue to improve the pool of experienced trainers with specialized abilities to conduct trainings on Inclusive Security's themes, Inclusive Security conducted a second "training of trainers" in early April, with a new group of experienced consultants and trainers.

The four-day session gave the participants an in-depth look at Inclusive Security: A Curriculum for Women Waging Peace and shared with them our unique training methodology. Each day, participants engaged in constructive dialogue around training in different conflict contexts, and shared best practices. One of the first discussions led to a useful list of tools and methodologies for building effective trainings.  

Making a slight change from December's program, participants this time were given actual training proposals around which to build a year-long training program. This proved to be an especially fruitful exercise and helped solidify for participants the methodology behind our work.
