Kalpana Simhan is Network Coordinator at The Institute for Inclusive Security, where she liaises with women around the world to help expand and strengthen the Institute’s Women Waging Peace Network. She coordinates the participation of Network members in Inclusive Security’s policy briefings, events and meetings, works to connect Network members to policymakers, media and researchers, and informs members of professional and speaking opportunities.
Previously, supported by a William J. Clinton Fellowship from the American India Foundation, she helped design programs providing quality educational opportunities for the children of low-wage migrant workers at Dr. Reddy’s Foundation in Hyderabad, India. She has also worked at various internationally-focused nonprofit organizations in Washington, DC, including Vital Voices Global Partnership and the World Affairs Council of Washington, DC. Ms. Simhan received her MA in international education, focusing on issues of gender and education, from the University of Sussex; and her BA in international affairs from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
