November 30, 2009: Canada's Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights, Hearing on UNSCR 1325, 1820

Carla Koppell, director of The Institute for Inclusive Security, testified before Canada's Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights on November 30, 2009. The hearing examined Canada's role in strengthening human rights mechanisms, including equality between women and men, in selected conflict-affected countries. There was particular focus on Canada's implementation of United Nations Security Council Council Resolution 1325; participation in United Nations conflict resolution and peace mechanisms; and departmental programs and initiatives.
