Evelyn Thornton is deputy director for management and partnerships at The Institute for Inclusive Security, where she is responsible for the Institute’s partnerships, resource allocation, strategic planning, and performance monitoring. She also oversees the coordination of the Women Waging Peace Network and co-leads Inclusive Security’s work in Africa. Since joining Inclusive Security in 2005, she has worked with women peace builders from countries including Fiji, Nepal, Sudan, The Netherlands, and Uganda.


Previously, Ms. Thornton worked as a program associate for the Foundation for Universal Responsibility for His Holiness The Dalai Lama in New Delhi, India, focusing on the Women in Security Conflict Management and Peace initiative. Ms. Thornton received her MA in conflict resolution at Georgetown University and her BA in international studies from Virginia Tech.
