CSIS and The Institute for Inclusive Security presented "Transforming Governance: Strategies For Policymakers" with Mu Sochua, Secretary General of the Sam Rainsy Party, Former minister of Women’s and Veterans’ Affairs, Cambodia; and Carla Koppell, Director, The Institute for Inclusive Security.
The period immediately following conflict offers a unique opportunity to increase the presence of women in government. Mu Sochua, former Cambodian Minister of Women’s and Veterans’ Affairs and eminent human rights activist leads efforts to increase the number of women in Cambodian Government, combat human trafficking, and establish a credible, transparent political system in her homeland. She was joined by Carla Koppell, director of the Institute for Inclusive Security, who introduced Strategies for Policymakers: Bringing Women into Government, the first in a new series of publications offering specific recommendations for strengthening women’s participation in governance.
