Women Peace Builders from 12 Conflict Areas Collaborate with DC Experts to Develop New Recommendations to Include Women in Peace Processes

Nineteen members of the global Women Waging Peace Network spent the morning of January 21 working with more than 80 policymakers and implementers in 7 thematic roundtables to hone recommendations in the following areas:

Democracy and Government

Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration

Legislation Affecting Women

Peace Negotiations and Agreements

Post-Conflict Reconstruction

Transitional Justice

UN Security Council Resolution 1325

Organizations represented at the roundtable discussions, or which hosted advocacy meetings over the next two days, included the Pentagon, United States Department of StateWoodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, Center for Strategic and International StudiesWorld Bank, US Agency for International Development, ENOUGH, National Democratic Institute, International Republican Institute, and United States Congress.
