International Forum in Bogotá -- Mujer y Poder
On May 24-25, 2007, Colombia hosted an international forum,
Mujer y Poder (Women and Power), in Bogotá. One thousand people attended the two-day conference at the Chamber of Commerce in Bogotá.
"Mujer y Poder" is convened by
Dilian Francisca Toro, president of the Colombian Congress, and the women's caucus of the Colombian Congress. Luis Eduardo Garzón, mayor of Bogotá, and President Alvaro Uribe will open the forum, along with Ms. Toro.
The Institute for Inclusive Security is proud that the conference's academic director,
Isabel Londoño, is a member of the
Women Waging Peace Network. Two other Network members, Colombian Senators
Gina Parody and Piedad Córdoba, will participate in the forum as panelists.
