Biography

Anne Auru is a member of the Ugandan Parliament representing the Moyo District. She is a member of the parliamentary forum on peace and of the children’s forum, and of the Uganda Women’s Parliamentary Association (UWOPA). She has nine years of experience as the district executive secretary with the local government, as well as seven years work experience with NGOs in Sudan while in exile. She has been the chair for the Madi Women Development Association; the regional representative for The Uganda National Agriculture Organization (TUWADO); secretary of the West Nile Women’s Association (WENYA), secretary of the Uganda Rural Enterprise Cooperative Union (URECU); and member of the Northern Uganda Peace Initiative (NUPI). Ms. Auru was the initiator and coordinator of the Moyo Rural Enterprise, a microfinance association. She holds diplomas in gender and development studies and principles of modern management. (1.2007)
