Biography 
Isabel Londoño, the coordinator of the Women Caucus of the Colombian Congress, was born in Cali, Colombia in 1956. She is an international consultant in educational administration, management, women’s issues, and internationalization of higher education. She has worked with the Inter-American Development Bank, World Bank, Oxfam Great Britain, and the US Agency for International Development in Peru, Mexico, several Central American and Caribbean countries, Paraguay, Colombia, and the United States. She has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad de los Andes, a master’s degree in international education, and a doctorate in social policy from Harvard University. Dr. Londoño was a candidate for City Council in 1997 and Colombia’s House of Representatives in 2002, and has worked on presidential and local campaigns for women candidates. She is the president of the Foundation of Women for Colombia, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing women and promoting their participation in politics. Dr. Londoño is a social entrepreneur with very successful experience as a fundraiser, a designer, and a promoter of new programs and projects in both the private and public sectors. She was the chief of staff of the First Lady of Colombia (Ms. Muñoz de Gaviria), the director of community development of the city of Bogotá, and she has been an investment banker and a real estate developer. She is also an educational coach who helps Colombian professionals make decisions about graduate school. (1.2007)
