Making Music Matters

Making Music Matters is a collaborative partnership between the Beethoven, Ohrenberger, and Mozart Elementary Schools, providing instrumental education to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students in these West Zone Boston Public Schools.  Making Music Matters is a model program for Boston Public Schools and provides structured instrumental music instruction in flute, violin, clarinet, and trumpet to over 280 students during the school day as well as opportunities for the students to perform throughout the school year.  In addition, Making Music Matters serves as a vehicle for community and parent involvement in the schools and has generated a unique collaboration between parents of children attending the schools called Parents for Instrumental Music, an active advocacy group for instrumental instruction in the schools.
