From the Top
From the Top is a weekly, nationally broadcast radio program that highlights talented young classical musicians, their work, and their life experiences. Each of the young people featured on the radio show is trained to be a “cultural leader.”
These cultural leaders are challenged to think about their role in advocating for the arts; each is paired with a professional artist to develop an outreach plan featuring a series of community performances.
In addition, From the Top's Make Your Own Radio Show pairs an artist with a teacher from grades four to eight to help classes develop and record their own radio show based on the From the Top model.
Through a partnership with McGraw Hill, the organization has its music and young musicians featured in textbooks for grades two through eight.
The organization is also developing a TV program with WGBH Boston.
