Dorchester Community Center for the Visual Arts

Dot Art was founded in 1988 to provide art programs to children, teens, and adults; to unite the Dorchester community; and to make meaningful connections between Dorchester and major cultural institutions. Dot Art offers Dorchester residents (from toddlers to adults) free and low-cost workshops and courses. Dot Art teachers challenge students to make two- and three-dimensional art that is both visually compelling and socially or personally relevant. Students exhibit and install their art in public venues and take part in public art celebrations, bringing art into the lives of all Dorchester residents. Dot Art also sponsors group excursions to cultural institutions in and around Boston and in New York.
