Community Art Center

CAC's mission is to nurture disadvantaged children and young adults with the arts in order to contribute to their personal and cultural growth. It has a licensed school-aged child care program that provides academic support and instruction in visual, performing, media, and computer arts. Its Teen Media program engages youth aged 12 to 19 in video production. Advanced students may be paid for their work as part of the Genuine Productions youth-managed video enterprise, and youth may also elect to take part in the Do It Your Damn Self! National Youth Video and Film Festival, which is coordinated by teens who select entries, market the program, and organize the event.
