Boston Children's Chorus
Boston Children's Chorus, modeled after the Chicago Children's Chorus, was founded in June 2003. Through music, the chorus brings together children of diverse backgrounds from Boston's inner city and its suburbs to foster youth development, social healing, and community building. Working across a broad range of ages and musical levels, the chorus sponsors instruction at the Pre-K through high school levels. They plan to form choruses citywide in collaboration with more than 54 community and arts organizations and schools; a central, high-quality chorus will tour in Boston and beyond. The chorus piloted its program with a group of 20 children in spring 2003.
